Hello on the day after Thanksgiving. I hope that you had a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving full of food, family, friends and football. Are you stuffed? Have you overdosed on football? Have you been shopping for Christmas presents online since midnight? I can tell you that I’m stuffed. My older daughter and I shared cooking duties. We said grace around the table, enjoyed a fabulous Thanksgiving meal. After a break to clean up the kitchen, we shared pecan rum tart and pumpkin pie. And then we all gather to watch the Cowboys while the little ones ran around playing. How about them Cowboys!! Now, I’ve had plenty of football, and I don’t shop on the day after Thanksgiving. How do I like to enjoy the day after Thanksgiving?
- Catch up on reading.
- Watch an old movie on T.V.
- Take a long nap.
- Take a walk. (Not always, but it seems like a positive goal to have.)
- Eat good Tex~Mex ~ after the all~American Thanksgiving meal of turkey and dressing and mashed potatoes and pecan pie, spicy chips and salsa with tacos and enchiladas just tastes wonderful.
I also just wanted to drop in for a quick minute to tell you about something fun, entertaining and inspirational that starts next Monday and continues throughout the week ~ a Holiday Tablescape Blog Hop hosted by Chloe at Celebrate and Decorate.
20 bloggers will be sharing our Christmas tablescapes with the world. I don’t know about you, but I love a beautifully set table and I can’t wait to share mine with you. Before we left Dallas on Sunday to fly to Atlanta, I took down our Thanksgiving table decorations and packed them away. I’ve never packed up Thanksgiving before Thanksgiving, but it seemed the prudent thing to do. Now, as soon as we return home Saturday, I can bring out the Christmas decorations and Christmas china and the santas and reindeer and snowmen. It will be a jolly time. “A most wonderful time of the year.” Next Wednesday, I’ll reveal my Holiday Tablescape 2016 to you. Until then, I thought it would be fun to see how I Set the Table for a Christmas Dinner Party in 2015.
I hope you enjoy the rest of the Thanksgiving weekend. I’ll be thinking about you. But first I have to take a nap, then take a walk, and then have some Tex~Mex.
