Welcome to Your Inspired Design Link Party #65. We are so glad you are here to share, read, enjoy or be inspired by the wonderful posts shared. This is a festive and creative time of year and as bloggers, we love creating and sharing. So here is Diane, our hostess this week, to introduce our featured posts and share some very insightful thoughts on the holidays. Congratulations to our featured selections this week. Enjoy the party.
Happy Holidays, everyone. How are you all? Really. How are you? It’s the holidays and most everyone is bustling about buying the perfect gift for secret santa, darting to the grocery store to buy all the ingredients for the perfect cookie recipe or for the Holiday menu that you are hosting at your home. Wrapping presents, shopping and fighting the crowds and traffic trying to beat the holiday deadlines are normal this time of year but hopefully you are taking a moment to just breathe. It can be stressful.
Yesterday, poor Holly was stuck on the side of the road with a flat tire for three hours, I was two minutes (literally 2 minutes) late for an appointment and they said I would have to reschedule after I drove 40 minutes in heavy lunch time traffic. I looked around the waiting room and it was completely empty, say what? Dean later told me it was a full moon. I think I need to study moon phases more!
These little interruptions in our lives on top of a holiday season can agitate us even more. During my “mad” moment I was having in the car, I made a decision on the spot to let it go and do something else with my valuable time and guess what? The day suddenly got better. Holly had three hours to stew about her nearly new tire blowing a hole and “she ain’t got no time for this” but there wasn’t anything she could do about it but sit and wait for AAA to get there and fix it. She was safe, most importantly. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if she started making a no sew pillow and a hand painted wooden sign while she waited. Haha.
I am a big proponent for positive self talk and prayer. My point here is to take these very small interruptions in life and let them go, especially around the holidays. Change your mind on the spot. Isn’t that we try to do with small children who are giving a tantrum? We try to divert their attention to something else, something positive for them. See if you can divert your attention as quickly as possible the next time you become agitated. I know it is easier said than done but I have faith in you.
As bloggers we have a lot of interruptions when it comes to running a blog. The other day I started laughing out loud at myself when I was designing my organizational wall with white board, running down the stairs to stain a farm table, running back upstairs to cut letters in the Silhouette machine, running back downstairs to spray paint a plastic container for another blog post I thought of when I went to clean out the linen closet in between all this. Only bloggers will understand this chaos as we are trying to write the post at the same time.
So as I introduce you to these talented bloggers being featured below for Your Inspired Design #65, I ask that you truly appreciate all the hard work that goes into running a blog just for their readers to be inspired by the work they do. We thank you all for reading and staying with us during each of our journeys and we appreciate all the bloggers linking up to Your Inspired Design.
I am so impressed with this tutorial and talent of Over The Apple Tree with these fingerless celtic weave gloves. She is even giving away the pattern for FREE.
Garden Up Green has a great blog to visit for DIY and Garden topics. She has a lot of experience stenciling and came up with a tutorial on how she made the festive Christmas sign above.
You had me at the white fence gate, Jolena. While I Linger blog is sharing her Front porch decorated with Christmas decor. It is definitely worth stopping by.
Thank you all so much and God Bless each and every one of you this holiday season.
When you are visiting all of our blogs, it always is helpful to us if you click on the Facebook, Pinterest or Twitter buttons and share with your friends. Thank a lot. We appreciate it.
Now it’s time to get going for this week’s party. Let’s see what you’ve been up to lately!
