Cute Ideas for Decorating Your Home for Easter

I’ve just finished putting out the bunnies for Easter, and now I have some more cute ideas for decorating your home for Easter to share.

I changed up last year’s Easter decorations a bit, actually going for a simpler look. Now I have some new cute ideas for decorating your home for Easter.

Now I’m ready to show you how I decorated the house this year. Sometimes, I just can’t help myself, changing up, taking apart, making old new, or just coming up with a new idea. That’s the case this year ~ a few new ideas for our front door, our mantle, our coffee table, and our table.

I actually started with our spring decor as a basis and built from there. It’s funny how some of the decorations from Easters passed  ~ mostly bunnies ~ look new, just by being in a different location. But, again, I couldn’t help myself ~ a few new bunnies decided to come home with me. And, of course, spring flowers have to have a place in any Easter decor. So let me take you on a little tour of our home with the ideas I used for decorating our home for the Easter holiday.

Decorate Your Home for Easter with these Cute Ideas

If you drive up to our house or are walking your dog, you’ll notice our Easter bunny banner. We have one for several holidays. No question that this house is celebrating the holiday.

At the front door, I used our same outdoor Carrot Bunny yard art, but our planter got an infusion of new spring color with bright pink, lavender, and red. I think flowers are always a wonderful way to decorate by the front door and welcome company.

I wanted to update our front door this year. I had a pot of coreopsis ( also called million belles) which had not yet been planted. We love this plant for its many color options, its pretty little flowers and that it takes our Texas heat.

I lined one of my egg baskets (bought at Roundtop a couple of years ago) with moss and placed the plant directly in the basket. I used medium~gauge wire to hang it (We have a nail in the top of the door that we wrap wire hangers around.). Then I added a simple pink~and~white check bow. I love the simplicity of this front door decoration. It will last past Easter ~ as long as we remember to water the plant.

On the table in our entry, I arranged 2 vignettes of bunnies. This Easter basket belonged to my younger daughter and the bunnies doing somersaults belonged to my son. This way the Easter theme that started at the front door continues. We’ve added to the decorative wooden eggs over the years.

On the other end of the entry table, I used my wire lantern purchased a few years ago at Tuesday morning to hold 2 ceramic bunnies while the bunny orchestra entertains.

Stepping into the living room, you’ll notice that I added a few bunnies to the spring decor I used on our mantle. In the center are these bunnies on a swing and the bunny tree house that Sweet Shark bought may years ago. I think they add a whimsical touch.

Here’s where some new bunnies get to show off. I thought that Pier 1 had awesome Easter decorations this year and I couldn’t resist these cute ones. Isn’t this boy bunny with the basket on his back precious? And I love the little girl bunny in her sweet skirt holding her carrot.

On our coffee table, I once again used the same wooden tray as I did for our spring decor update. First I placed green moss in the tray, then filled my glass jar and wire container with flowers ~ 2 shades of pink carnations. A couple of weeks ago I shared how to arrange a flower vase. I tied coordinating ribbon around 2 wooden bunnies and placed them in the tray, the tall one under a cloche.

For weeks, I had my eye on these precious sheep at Pier 1 and I finally broke down and bought them on sale. I’m not sure if they fit in with Easter bunnies, but I do believe that sheep in the night are part of the complete Easter story. Next Christmas, I may use them.

We have had an Easter tree with pastel lights for many years. This year I placed it behind our sofa table and hung new brightly colored pastel eggs on the branches. I had to get down on my hands and knees to reach an extension cord behind the sofa. Therefore, the lights are staying on until Easter. No way am I crawling to turn the lights on and off. I wish you could see how pretty it looks at night. We bought the pink vase on a vacation many years ago. I just stuffed it with Easter grass to hold the tree upright.

On the table between 2 Begere chairs are more bunnies and another Easter basket. One of our stuffed bunnies sits on a chair.

For our breakfast room table, I set a plate stand on the white tablecloth from my spring tablescape. On top of that, I used an embroidered tablecloth that I bought in March at the Scott’s Antique Market. Made in Germany, it features baby chicks, Easter eggs, and flowers in pastel colors. I knew when I saw it that it would be a great addition for Easter decorating.

Next, I placed multi~colored shredded raffia. Then the large white ceramic bunny planter that I bought last week at the charity event that I shared with you. I added a bow tie in the pink~and~white checked ribbon from the front door arrangement. I also enhanced the purple African violet with more pink carnations to add more pink to my little tablescape.

Around the bunny, I used the 4 herb pots  of basil, oregano, mint, and rosemary that I bought at the auction. I removed them from the tool box they came in, taped more pink~and~white checked ribbon around the galvanized planters and stuck a paper mache and twine carrot in each one. Last year, I used the carrots as place cards.

As a treat, I’m serving the Easter Basket Cupcakes on the sweet cupcake stands that I also bought at Benefit. For pink lemonade, I would use the pink and white pitcher I bought at Home Goods.

I bet you’re thinking, ” Those are the cutest Easter cupcakes I’ve ever seen. I wish I had the recipe and knew how to make them.” Well, I am going to fulfill your wish. Friday on the blog, I’ll share the recipes and the step~by~step directions to make them.

Now that our home is completely decorated with cute ideas for Easter, I’m ready to just enjoy the time until Easter is here and we can say, “He is Risen, He is Risen, indeed.” And I will probably have a cupcake while I’m waiting.
